Fully accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB), this course meets the needs of Forest School leaders and educators working with children in dynamic, outdoor environments.

This course is ideal for Forest School practitioners, early years educators, outdoor learning staff and teaching professionals who want a first aid qualification built around the unique ethos and practicalities of Forest School. With an emphasis on contextualised, hands-on learning, it equips you with the confidence and competence to manage a wide range of incidents in remote or outdoor locations.

2-Day Forest School First Aid Syllabus

Forest School First Aid (16 hours)

The course encompasses a mixture of theoretical and practical sessions and is run in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Topics covered in this course:

  • Roles and responsibilities of a first aider

  • Primary survey

  • CPR

  • AEDs

  • Secondary survey

  • Recovery position

  • Choking

  • Seizures

  • Shock

  • Wounds and bleeding

  • Drowning

  • Fractures, dislocations and sprains & strains

  • Chest injuries

  • Burns and scalds

  • Poisoning, including bites and stings

  • Anaphylaxis

  • Effects of temperature

  • Dealing with medical conditions including, heart attacks, angina, stroke, diabetes and meningitis
