  • 1-day course (minimum 8 hours).

    Our 1 day Emergency Outdoor First Aid course is designed for those who work, volunteer or spend time in outdoor environments and need a solid foundation in essential first aid skills. This practical, scenario-based course focuses on emergency situations you may encounter in outdoor or remote settings and is ideal for those who don’t require a full 2-day qualification.

    Whether you're a Forest School leader, teacher, outdoor instructor, youth leader, DofE supervisor, parent or simply someone who enjoys the outdoors, this course will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in an emergency.

    This course combines theory with hands-on practical skills and outdoor scenarios, all delivered in a supportive and friendly environment.

    We run bespoke, private group courses that can be tailored to the needs and schedule of your organisation/workplace, please contact us to book.

  • 2-day course (minimum 16 hours).

    Our Outdoor First Aid qualification is a comprehensive outdoor first aid course designed to meet the needs of those who work and play in the outdoors in potentially remote locations and meets NGB standards.

    Our Outdoor First Aid courses will set you up with the knowledge and confidence to manage incidents ranging from a cut finger to a multiple casualty emergency in a remote location.

    Participants on our outdoor first aid courses come from many backgrounds and occupations including Forest School leaders, teachers, outdoor instructors, youth leaders, parents, students, office workers, people working in remote and foreign locations, tradespeople etc.

    The course covers those +F topics required by forestry workers and is IOL aligned.

    The course encompasses a mixture of theoretical and practical sessions along with scenarios taking place outdoors and is run in a friendly and relaxed environment. 

    We offer public courses and private group bookings as well as bespoke first aid training e.g for DofE. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

  • As well as public courses, we run bespoke, private Outdoor First Aid courses that we can tailor to the specific needs and schedule of you and your team. These can either run from our venue in Llandrindod Wells (LD16DF) or we can travel to you.

  • There will be a small element of e-learning prior to your course to enable us to spend more time in scenarios during the training.

  • We provide hot drinks and biscuits on our public courses.

  • Our Outdoor First Aid courses also meet the requirements for Emergency First Aid at Work as outlined in the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.

    For a small additional fee (£15 + VAT) we can also issue an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate as well as the Outdoor First Aid certificate.

  • WP First Aid is regulated by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB). All FAIB certificates are recognised by HSE and Department for Education/OFSTED Inspectors. The FAIB quality managment system holds third party Certification via UKAS and operates under the standards required for ISO 9001 (2015).

    The FAIB are one of the founding members of the First Aid Quality Partnership (FAQP), a body that includes representation from HSE, the Resuscitation Council (UK), the Voluntary Aid Societies and from OFQUAL, SQA as well as Fire, Police and Ambulance. WP First Aid meets the Quality Assurance standards published by the FAQP.
