    Our Emergency First Aid at Work + Equestrian course is a one-day (7-hour) program designed specifically for those working with or around horses, combining essential workplace first aid training with additional skills relevant to equestrian environments. It fully meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, with an extra focus on the specific risks found in equestrian settings.

    This course is aimed at riding instructors, yard managers, grooms, trekking centres, event staff, livery yard owners, horse owners and anyone involved in the equestrian world who may need to provide first aid in a horse-related emergency.

    The course combines clear, accessible theory with lots of practical, hands-on scenarios tailored to the realities of working with horses, helping participants build confidence to respond effectively in real-life emergencies.

    We offer bespoke, private group courses that can be tailored to the needs and schedule of your organisation or setting - please contact us to book.

    There is a small element of e-learning prior to the course to enable us to spend more time in scenarios during the training.

  • WP First Aid is regulated by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB). All FAIB certificates are recognised by HSE and Department for Education/OFSTED Inspectors. The FAIB quality managment system holds third party Certification via UKAS and operates under the standards required for ISO 9001 (2015).

    The FAIB are one of the founding members of the First Aid Quality Partnership (FAQP), a body that includes representation from HSE, the Resuscitation Council (UK), the Voluntary Aid Societies and from OFQUAL, SQA as well as Fire, Police and Ambulance. WP First Aid meets the Quality Assurance standards published by the FAQP.
